2024-February, Waikoloa Village, Hilton Kona, Hawaii

Hawaii is so beautiful. The property is set up in sections. There is a tram that you can use to travel from one section to another. Rooms do not have refrigerators or stoves although a microwave is available for that quick meal or snack.

There are also beautiful walkways adorned with art and statues adorning the walkway.

2023-December, Ocean 22, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

When we arrived on Saturday we were quickly informed of a severe tropical storm approaching, to make landfall on Sunday.

Love a room with a view

And then the storm

Winds were over 90 miles per hour. The tide was insane. Tornadoes were also in the area but thankfully not right by us. Now we can say we survived our first tropical storm.

Nala enjoying the window view.

So we celebrated 2023 Christmas here.

Even decorated our condo with our modest little Christmas tree

We always enjoy mini golf.

Our condo had full kitchen however we usually check out local restaurants. Dining out

Just had to get a picture of this fishing boat

The weather was not very cooperative while we were there, temperature only in the s 50’s and 60s. However we always find ways of having fun.

On your next adventure to Myrtle Beach, check out Ocean 22.

Safe travels.

2023-October, Port Aransas, Texas

Most every year, we take a trip to Port Aransas, Texas. My late art instructor, Robert Garden took a class there every year for 49 years to do painting classes fishing, beach walking, swimming, etc.

Lonestar, Gypsy and Nala enjoying the beach.

Kite flying is a great past time when in P.A.

Every year a fishing boat is chartered for those interested.

A well known sand castle builder gives our groups free lessons.

Every year we have a meal for the entire group and a painting demonstration. This year Guy Morrow did a lovely painting which one class member purchased for her home.

This year would have been his 50th year to return to the place Robert loved. We gathered on our last day there to pay tribute to the man we knew and loved. Prayers were said.

Roberts ashes were taken by the warm ocean breeze and whisked away in the tide.

Robert was home

Our trips to Port Aransas continue every year. I am sure Robert looks down on us and smiles.

2023 The Cellar Winery, Madrid, Iowa

We really enjoyed our visit at the Cellar Winery. The new owners were very nice. The property is beautiful.

There is a huger parking area fort campers. For a small fee you can plug in your camper. Plans for more electric hookups is in the future plans.

They have concerts on weekends.

Fire pit gatherings.

Beautiful outdoor seating.

They have several choices of NA Beers along with their regular beers and alcoholic beverages.

They serve frozen pizzas by a local distributor. They are very good. Plus they have a meat and cheese tray for purchase.

Lovely back yard

A private deck can be rented for group activites.

The Cellar is tucked away in a beautiful country setting, the new owners doing a great job in imporving upon what is already a beautiful facility.

If you get a chance, visit The Cellar. You won’t be disappointed.

2023 Daytona Bike Week, Daytona Beach, Florida

Welcome bikers.

There was major damage all along the beach from the previous hurricane.

As members of Christian Motorcyclists Association, we brought along our 2023 mascot, Agape Gorilla. He enjoyed rides on the beach, checking out signs and just hanging out. In February 2024, he will be auctioned off and all proceeds got to Run For The Son missions.

Beautiful scenery for cruising.

Here’s a sample of the fabulous custom paint jobs.

The streets are lined with clothing shops.

They have many campgrounds to accomadate the crowds.

We really enjoyed our time at Daytona Bike Week. Definitely worth the trip.

2022, EARLS 66 MOTEL, WINSLOW, ARIZONA

Looking for somewhere to spend the night, we came across Earl’s. It is a 1950’s motel. Very nostalgic. Interior of rooms reflect the era with the exception of the large screen TV. I really loved the touch of the handmade quilt on the bed.

It is located near a railroad track and road so if you need quiet for the night, this is not your stop. However, if you want to take a walk back to the 50’s, Earl’s s it.

Room was very clean and friendly staff.

So now I have stood on the corner of Winslow, AZ and I also slept on the corner of Winslow, AZ. For those of you who don’t know, ‘standing on the corner n Winslow, AZ, is a verse from a song, “Take It Easy” by the Eagles.

2022 Guadalupe Brewing Company and pizza kitchen, New Braunfels, Texas

In New Braunfels, TX, you will find this is a great place to stay for a night after a long day of travel. The parking lot is huge and they will accommodate up to 5 campers.

The brewery has a great list of beers to choose from. They also have a few NA beers for those who like the taste but do not want the alcohol.

There is indoor and outdoor seating. On the Friday night we were there they had a live band. It was real enjoyable.

The pizza kitchen is only a few steps from the brewery. They have an amazing variety of pizzas or you can create your own, plus a variety of other menu items. We had the pizza and it was delicious.

When you travel through New Braunfels stop in at the Guadalupe Brewing Company and Pizza Kitchen. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely garden areas to sit and relax.

Live band concerts outdoors. Plenty of space very large gatherings.

We were camping at Moondance Jam in Walker, MN in July 2021. Our Class A camper was parked next to a camper that had a generator set outside. Little did we know the generators exhaust was directed towards our camper. Our slides were open and the exhaust had gotten into our camper. We were awakened by the CO2 detector going off.

If you have slides open and there is a generator next to your camper, make sure that their exhaust is not directed toward you camper.

This could have ended tragically if we did not have that CO2 detector.

We had our neighbors reposition the exhaust outward, away from our camper.

Please share this information with your camping friends. It could save their life.

Safe Camping to all.
