Utah State Line. We have never been to Utah and was amazed at how beautiful it is.
These rock formations look like sand dunes.
We stopped to camp at the Great Salt Lake Park. There were only five spots available for camping, a parking lot with water and electric hook-up. We were right on the shore of the Salt Lake.
Camping by the Great Salt Lake
The Great Salt Lake looks massive however it has receded in the past years. Where the water receded it left salt patches. It looked like snow or ice.
Salty shores of the Great Salt Lake
Rocky Shore/Great Salt Lake
The one popular sport on the lake is sailing.
Sailing Information
If you want to fish or swim this lake is not for you. Only brine shrimp can survive is the extremely salty water. Also, there are hordes of brine flies that blacken the shoreline. The salt sticks to your body when you swim in the lake. However, the neat part is, that you can float in the Salt Lake without even trying.
This campground was very nice and setup in such a way that many spots were pull-thru . Paved lots, covered picnic area with picnic table and a fire pit. There is a pond for fishing but no swimming is allowed. Tent sites and group camp sites are also available.
The Colorado River flows along the banks of the park.
The river is popular for rafting.
Nala had a chance to cool off from the 100 degree heat in the Colorado River
The park also has spacious area for groups for picnics, these area needs to be reserved prior to gathering. The picnic areas are covered with picnic tables and grills. Horseshoe pits and a volleyball court are also located at this group picnic site.
The Colorado scenery was fabulous, going out early in the morning to see sights and staying in air conditioning in the heat of the afternoon.
One mountain formation was named ‘Praying Hands”
To the end of every day there was always a fabulous sunset.
We really enjoyed our stay at this state park, and it comes with our recommendation.
This was our second visit to Trinidad, CO. This visit we had time to tour the city of Trinidad. Very quaint town, with historic buildings.
Notice the red brick streets on photo below.
Bird cage is unique.
We ate most meals in the RV but treated ourselves to pizza, Bella Luna Pizzeria,
This was some of the best pizza we have ever had. Its got to be the wood fire oven, as seen below.
If you look close at the below photo is a full stack of wood used in the pizza oven stacked on right.
If you expect fast food this is not the place for you. The oven can only accommodate so many pizzas at one time. Therefore, there is a long wait for them to be baked. Very popular and well worth the wait.
Trinidad Scenery
Trinidad SunsetTrinidad was a mining town and has some great history.
Trinidad Campground.
Trinidad CampgroundThe sites have water and electric. Dump station available. Lovely walking paths.
If you ever travel to Trinidad, CO make sure to take the time to check out this campground and the city of Trinidad. We loved it and plan to revisit.
During family trips we park the RV and stay in various Condos throughout the U.S. so we can all stay together.
In March we traveled to Tuscon, Arizona to meet family at the Varsity Club of America-Tuscon. The staff at the resort was extremely helpful as we had to find a place to park our RV and trailer somewhere for the week. They had us park in the employee parking lot which was a secure gated area.

We also had the chance to visit a friend who lives near Tuscon. We all went out for a nice meal. Kate and my friends son had a jalapeno eating contest. The results were hilarious. Neither wanted to admit how bad it burned going down.
We were able to spend time a my friends house and enjoy the fabulous view from my friends house
What a marvelous view for a picnic.
After the picnic the kids got into the pool.
We had a great time in Tuscon and looking forward to a return trip.
We have stayed at this RV park twice already. The park is lovely, great hosts, lovely walking trails. There is a trail has that leads down to the beach. It is an interesting walk as you walk on a narrow path next to rock formations. There are signs explaining that this path has some difficult areas to walk being uneven and rocky. Extreme caution must be taken before while walking this trail..
When you get to the end of the path there are several flights of stairs to get to the lake. Fishing, swimming, sand beach.
The only bad thing about reaching the bottom is you have to climb back up. Although if the trip down wore you out there is a paved road to get back up the hill.
So if you ever get to Bay Shore Park check out this trail. A calorie burner for sure. Enjoy.
Kings Holly Haven is a very clean and well kept up RV Park. This RV Park has exceptionally clean laundry facilities and rest rooms. The staff was friendly. There is a nice walking path along the river to walk your dog. Quiet adult oriented park.
This RV park was our base for all our activities.
The Opry has amazing entertainment. Photography was not allowed at the performance. Entertainment ranged from acrobats, singing, dancing. At the end of the show the cast performed an amazing tribute to our military.
Some of the songs performed were the theme song from “Frozen”, Beauty and the Beast and so much more. This is a kid friendly amazing show you don’t want to miss in Pigeon Forge, TN.
TITANIC MUSEUM
Again, no photography was allowed inside the Titanic.
We all know the story of the Titanic which sunk after hitting an ice burg in April 1912. Here you can tour the replica of the Titanic. You can walk the staircase, viewing actual artifacts found on the sunken ship, see the ‘steerage’ quarters, and the first class quarters.
At one point during the tour there is a tank of water which is the actual temperature the water was when the Titanic sunk.
Get the facts of the Titanic. Don’t miss this attraction.
WAX MUSEUM
This is a fabulous wax museum. Another must see if you are in Pigeon Forge, TN
You can hang out with you favorite actors:
If you are a horror movie fanatic there is a fair share of images from movies like:
If you are looking for adventure and marvelous scenery, drive The Dragon. 318 curves in 11 miles. We rode our can-am motorcycles. Amazing.
Below is a photo of an easy curve. However, many were hair pin turns and switchbacks. Made for an exciting drive.
One of the scenic stops.
‘Tree of Shame’
Evidence of many who lost control of The Dragon.
At the end of the amazing ride you come to the visitors center with food, beverages and a gift shop. By motorcycle, vehicle or even bicycle, don’t miss this.
These are only a small selection of activities that you can enjoy in Pigeon Forge, TN. Remember, if traveling by RV, make sure to check out King’s Holly Haven RV Park.
As you can see by the rustic building this campground has old time charm. Meals served in the restaurant, days and times vary depending on the occasions and number of guests in the campground. The campground owners are also the chefs. They never let you walk away hungry.
Guest cabins throughout the park. The double cabins have a walk through so you can rent either one or both for you relaxing vacation.
Tent sites available in lovely wooded areas have water and electric.
When you get tired walking, take a break on the swings and just take in the beauty of your surroundings.
Pond rest area
Walkways run throughout the park.
Along with the salt water pool is the snack shack. Hours of operation depend on occasion and number of campground guests.
Gypsy spent many hours in the pool.

LoneStar and TenPin walking Hook and Nala
Tent site by the pond. Fishing is catch and release for campers to enjoy.
Davy Crockett Campground is very charming. Well manicured with staff always working to improve the campground.
There is entertainment on the weekends, activities for kids, friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay.
Another visit to Kandiohi County Park East (formerly Park 2). The update is that the RV sites are all paved. Water and electric at every site along with a picnic table and fire ring. A dump station is located near entrance of the park.
We found the RV park to once again to be very well-maintained. Spaces are of average size. We were happy to see the paved lots.
Several public restrooms and shower facilities are kept clean and maintained. Docks for fishing, boat launch, store well-stocked for those items you forgot.
